ONE Community Dinner
Every 2nd Thursday of the month a delicious free meal is served to the community in Burlington Vermont's Old North End neighborhood at the ONE Community Center, in the Event Hall, downstairs, at 20 Allen Street. Parking is accessed from North Street. Dinner begins at 5:30, and is vegetarian (mostly vegan) with gluten free options. The dinner began in the year 2000. Current volunteers Patrick Johnson and Janet Hicks have been cooking for the event for over ten years . Janet Carscadden joined the team in 2012 to add an international or ingredient theme to each meal. Community Dinner is supported by City Market, with local food donated by Diggers' Mirth, Intervale Community Farm, Bread and Butter Farm, and more. The food is mostly organic and local. The dinner is free and open to everyone. Donations are not necessary but are gladly accepted to help cover our costs. Suggested donations $5 per person. Dinner is served 5:30-6:30. Ward 2-3 NPA meeting follows dinner from
6:30 - 8:30 pm.
6:30 - 8:30 pm.
These home-cooked meals are prepared and served by volunteers. Volunteering is a great way to engage with your community. Through our sponsorship with City Market, volunteers can earn member hours. The kitchen is always filled with laughter, and you'll definitely learn some new recipes! To learn more, make contact by clicking the Volunteer link on top of this page. Spaces are limited, so get in touch early.
Come break bread, and leave room for dessert! After dinner you are welcome to stay for the Neighborhood Planning Assembly for wards 2 and 3. You can get more information on the link on top of this page.
